Stop the motorway speed limit cut

Highways England is planning on REDUCING the motorway speed limit from 70mph to 60mph on parts of the network in order to reduce emissions.

If this trial is successful, Highways England would seek to introduce 60mph all over the country. Motorists could be hit with a £100 fine and three penalty points for breaching the lower limit. It will remain for at least 12 to 15 months, or longer if it is having a positive effect on emissions.

Motorists do NOT want the motorway speed limit cut! This move would increase congestion and travel times.
